Apricot orchards, Rakaposhi at sunrise, and the stillness of Attabad's turquoise. Eight years of relationships with this valley's finest hosts — and it shows in every night of the trip.
Most Hunza tours rush you up the Karakoram Highway and call it an itinerary. We built this one around the hours that actually matter — first light on Rakaposhi, the walk down from Eagle's Nest, an unhurried afternoon in Karimabad's bazaar.
You'll travel Islamabad → Naran → Chilas → Karimabad → Attabad → Khunjerab, then return the same road at a gentler pace. Nights are split between Serena Hunza and Eagle's Nest, both booked and photographed by us before you arrive.
This is our flagship region. The ground team lives here, the drivers have run the KKH for a decade, and the kitchens we stop at have been checked — not assumed.
Every night, every meal, every stop — written down before you book, not improvised on the road.
We collect you from Islamabad (or Lahore, with a pre-leg the evening before) and drive north through Abbottabad and Balakot into the Kaghan Valley. An easy first day — the point is to arrive rested, not to cover ground.
Your named coordinator meets you. Vehicle checked, water and snacks on board.
A hygiene-checked kitchen we've used for six years. Not a highway dhaba.
Check in, walk the riverside, early dinner. Altitude begins here — we take it slowly.
The day the mountains stop being scenery and start being the point. We cross Babusar Top at 4,173m, stop where the light is best, then descend to Chilas on the Indus.
Twenty quiet minutes before the day-trip crowds arrive from Naran.
Photo stop. Hot tea from the vehicle. We watch for altitude symptoms here.
A functional overnight, honestly described. Chilas is a waypoint, not a destination.
The Karakoram Highway at its most cinematic. We stop at the Rakaposhi View Point for lunch with a 7,788m mountain filling the window, then climb into Karimabad by late afternoon.
Where the Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindu Kush meet. Brief, but worth it.
Lunch. Glacier-fed trout if it's running. The view does the work.
Check in, then the bazaar at golden hour — apricot, walnut, hand-woven wool.
A full day in one place — deliberately. Baltit and Altit Forts in the morning, an unhurried lunch, and Eagle's Nest for sunset over Rakaposhi, Diran and Golden Peak.
700 years old, Aga Khan-restored. A guided hour, not a rushed twenty minutes.
Older, quieter, and the royal garden is the best-kept secret in the valley.
We arrive ninety minutes early to hold the good seats. This is the photograph you came for.
The highest paved border crossing on earth, at 4,693m. A long day in the vehicle, but the drive up through Gojal — Passu Cones, Attabad, the Hussaini bridge — is half the reward.
Permits and NOCs already handled. We don't queue at the checkpoint.
Photo stops. The bridge is optional — no pressure, and no judgement.
Forty-five minutes at the top. Oxygen on board. Bring the warm layer we told you to pack.
Late dinner waiting. Nobody cooks for you at 7pm unless we asked them to.
After yesterday's altitude, a soft day. Private boat on Attabad's impossible blue, lunch at a lakeside kitchen we trust, and an afternoon that belongs to you.
Booked in advance. Life jackets for every guest, children included.
Luxus Hunza. Hygiene-checked. Vegetarian and child menus by request.
Rest, walk, shop, or nothing at all. Your coordinator is on WhatsApp if you want a plan.
We retrace the KKH with fewer stops and more time — Babusar in the afternoon light, which most tours never see because they're racing the dark.
Breakfast packed. Farewell to the ground team.
The same pass, a completely different mountain.
Last night on the road. Dinner, and the trip photographs already being edited.
A relaxed drive back down. We drop you exactly where we collected you. Your edited photo gallery arrives within seven days — no chasing, no upsell.
Breakfast first. There's no rush left in the schedule.
The same kitchen as day one. It's good; that's why we go back.
Lahore guests continue by private transfer, arriving by 21:30.
No line items discovered at the hotel desk. This is the whole thing.
Serena Hunza, Eagle's Nest, Pine Park Naran — confirmed bookings, photographed by us. No "similar category" surprises past Chilas.
Land Cruisers and Prados, 2022 or newer, owner-operated. Drivers earn salaries — not tips — so they never rush you.
Khunjerab entry and Deosai permits, NOC handling for foreign guests — arranged before you leave home.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout. Hygiene-checked kitchens. Halal-certified, vegetarian and child menus by request.

A bilingual host travels with you start to finish. Handles hotels, restaurants, schedules and surprises — so you don't.
A professional photographer travels with multi-day journeys. Edited gallery delivered within 7 days of return.

Five non-negotiables. Written down because we mean them — and because most operators in this country don't.
Confirmed bookings, photographed by us. No downgrade once you're eight hours up the KKH and out of options.
2022-or-newer 4×4s on northern routes. Our drivers are salaried, not tipped — so they drive to arrive, not to finish early.
Hand-picked kitchens, hygiene-checked before the season. This is the complaint we hear most about other operators. It won't be one here.
